My role as Club Welfare Officer is to ensure that our club is committed to create and maintain a safe, inclusive and positive environment to all our club members and volunteers and to implement and promote Volleyball England Safeguarding Policy within our club. Our members are to feel valued and to be treated with respect.

The club’s Safeguarding Policy is reviewed and approved at the beginning of each season, in line with the Volleyball England Guidance.  Safeguarding Training is also completed by Welfare Officer and coaches.

Any Safeguarding concerns raised from any club member/parents of junior members will be listened to and actioned accordingly and treated in strict confidence. I have a duty of care to follow up on any concerns. I try to attend most Junior and Open section trainings and have attended Women’s training on occasions. I can be contacted by phone or email (see club information pack) at any time if you have any concerns.

Welfare questions pop up from time-to-time, however I note that there have been no severe welfare issues this season.
