As we have new players this season I'll just remind everyone of B team selection policy. A policy is what we do when we have a choice.  I know, from experience that sometimes there is no choice.

So here's the policy.

We don't take more than nine players to an away match - if you are traveling you should get to play. We like to be inclusive, so we try never to exclude anyone.  That said, you are more likely to be selected, and you are likely to get more court time if you:

  • show up regularly at training
  • reply early when I'm asking about availability
  • keep an eye on the web site.  That's where I ask about availability.  You can get the site to send you emails when there is a new post.
  • turn up promptly, at training too - it helps the session get started promptly
  • help out with the chores (putting up/taking down the net, take a role on the comittee...)
  • help out with the official roles (learn to score, learn to referee...)  There are occasional courses for these kind of things.  Club policy, in the past, has been to subsidise or even pay for these.

Cheers,
- Richard
